I started FalkoInc almost a year ago and to be honest, I was kind of hoping I would spend more time on writing and creating then I actually did. I spend most of the time working with clients; it burned me out a lot since I took any job that came by not realizing what a toll it took out of me until it was too late. However, I learned a lot in the last year and what does not kill you makes you stronger right?
Selbststaendig – Self-and always
In German self-employed translates to Selbstaendig and most people who are self-employed knows that itβs always yourself who needs to do it. Now I concluded that this also means you need to do things for yourself to make yourself happy. For me that means I need to find a balance between client work and building my own content, tools and websites. I like writing but in the last few months I just felt burned-out, I could not concentrate on creating new content or putting into place ideas in my head.
Business is difficult
As soon the recession hit it started to hurt my business, because I have mostly larger international clients and am less involved in the local business. This led me to change my service to make it more accessible for smaller businesses both local and international. I also started to write again. I finally have more ideas and the motivation to sit down and type a few pages of articles.
Changing myself to change my life
I finally started writing blog posts again and I have fun doing it. For the past 6 months, I could barely find the strength to do so. I always try to come up with a unique angle to a topic so I can educate my readers about it. That is not always easy but worth it. I started to change myself for the better as I grow older and learn more about life. Now I find the energy to write what I like.
The next step in the New Year
Even though I am not 100% sure what I will do next year I have formulated a plan. Now I need to start to write them down and build the ideas I have in my head.
So stay tuned and keep reading the blog. I promise there will be more content and more information this year. π
